Motorola Shows Off Latest WiMAX Device

Motorola is showcasing its latest WiMAX solution, the CPEi 300, during the WiMAX World USA show in Chicago this week.

The new CPEi 300 Series is a desktop consumer device that provides wireless broadband connectivity; it features one data port for data-centric operations and two analog terminal adaptors (ATAs) so end users can plug in analog phones for VoIP service. The WiMAX CPEi 300 is scheduled to be available to operators in Q4 2007.

“As a global vendor of WiMAX solutions, Motorola has designed a versatile portfolio of access points, customer premises equipment, chipsets, services and devices that addresses the varying wants and needs from operators around the world,” Fred Wright, senior vice president responsible for Motorola’s Home & Networks Mobility WiMAX business, said in a statement. “The CPEi 300 is an entry-level, reduced cost device that provides fixed, wireless broadband connections to bandwidth intensive, rich media applications, voice, data, and video services.”
