Sprint to launch HTC Touch

Combining a dynamic touch screen experience with industry-leading network speeds, Sprint and HTC Corp. announced the upcoming availability of Touch by HTC, a full touch screen wireless phone integrating Windows Mobile 6 with advanced entertainment features. Operating on the Sprint Mobile Broadband network, the stylish Touch by HTC brings together email and other essential business applications with Sprint’s exclusive multimedia content including over-the-air music downloads, live TV and more.

Versatile and compact, Touch by HTC provides quick and easy access to Sprint-exclusive content, including:

* Sprint Music Store(SM), powered by Groove Mobile, which allows users to browse and wirelessly download full-length songs directly to their phone from a selection of more than 1.8 million songs

Touch by HTC offers MicroSD card slot that supports up to 4GB ��������� a 512MB card is included with the device. Additional features include a 2.0 MP camera/camcorder with up to 5X zoom, advanced stereo Bluetooth and Voice-activated dialing.

Touch by HTC measures 4.0″ x 2.4″ x 0.6″ and weighs just 4 ounces. This device will be priced at $249.99 with a two-year subscriber agreement and a $100 mail-in rebate. Standard data rates apply for music and other content downloads.

Motorola Shows Off Latest WiMAX Device

Motorola is showcasing its latest WiMAX solution, the CPEi 300, during the WiMAX World USA show in Chicago this week.

The new CPEi 300 Series is a desktop consumer device that provides wireless broadband connectivity; it features one data port for data-centric operations and two analog terminal adaptors (ATAs) so end users can plug in analog phones for VoIP service. The WiMAX CPEi 300 is scheduled to be available to operators in Q4 2007.

“As a global vendor of WiMAX solutions, Motorola has designed a versatile portfolio of access points, customer premises equipment, chipsets, services and devices that addresses the varying wants and needs from operators around the world,” Fred Wright, senior vice president responsible for Motorola’s Home & Networks Mobility WiMAX business, said in a statement. “The CPEi 300 is an entry-level, reduced cost device that provides fixed, wireless broadband connections to bandwidth intensive, rich media applications, voice, data, and video services.”

    HP Announces Two New Smartphones (IPAQ 900 & IPQ 600)

    HP announced two new handsets yesterday, as the company looks to expand its handheld offerings into the mobile phone market.

    First is the iPAQ 600 Series Business Navigator, HP’s second cell phone, a 3G handset using a traditional 12-key keypad, which also includes a navigation wheel, a 3 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, including VoIP capabilities and navigational features including 3-D maps. HP has not yet announced pricing or availability, but did say the phone should be available by the end of the year and would be compatible with most U.S. carriers.

    The company also announced the iPAQ 900 Series Business Messenger, a smart phone with a full keyboard that comes with many of the same features of the 600 series, including Windows Mobile 6, Wi-Fi capabilities, Bluetooth, a 3 megapixel camera and large display.
